  Steve was recommended to me a few years ago by a customer of his (who is a water engineer) to deal with my severe problem with iron in my well water. He solved the problem, helped me get used to the idea of having an elaborate water filtering system and maintaining it, etc.
  There are a few other people in the phone book, but most of them think a water filter is something you screw into the water line, which might work for minor issues. But Steve, who is also a great guy, can work with the real problems. It is about a 100-mile trip from my house to his shop, but I never found anyone else in that 100 miles as competent.
